I have lived in London for some time and regard it as my city. Maybe, I feel so at home here because I was born in London. On my third birthday, my parents moved back to Connemara on the west coast of Ireland. You could say, it was a bit of a contrast and to a child’s young mind, I found the move a challenge. Over time, the mystery of the seascape, mountains and wild, barren landscape won me over. I can see now how much Connemara is reflected in my work. There is a certain freedom, a type of expansiveness that to me, speaks of a certain mystical quality that is Connemara.
